Discover different eateries around the county during our Food and Drink Week 19th-27th September 2026, with a selection of promotions, special menus and events on offer.

Rutland is known as being ‘The County of Good Taste’ so come along and celebrate the excellent food and drink we have here, from our local suppliers and businesses. Visitors and residents are encouraged to eat their way around the county enjoying Rutland Food Week set menus.


Head to Oakham on Sunday 20th September for the Rutland Food & Drink Festival with stalls in the Market Place and along High Street, plus Oakham Castle and the castle grounds. This year there will be pet competitions in the castle grounds too, so bring your pooch!

Enjoy the beautiful Rockingham Castle Estate with a visit to their Autumn Artisan Fair on 26 & 27 September. This popular event brings together a vibrant mix of local food, drink, and craft producers for truly memorable experience. Explore a variety of high-quality, handcrafted goods and unique gifts from talented local artisans

Part of British Food Fortnight: Love British Food‘s national celebration of the diverse and delicious food that Britain produces.

    The Viking Way is celebrating 50 years! This much The Viking Way is celebrating 50 years!

This much-loved, long-distance walking route stretches for 149 miles through the Lincolnshire Wolds, Leicestershire countryside, before finishing in Oakham, Rutland.

Established in 1976, the Viking Way takes walkers through beautiful landscapes, historic villages and peaceful countryside.

As the trail reaches its 50th anniversary, it’s the perfect time to rediscover the route. And for those who complete the journey, Oakham Library holds an impressive leather-bound Yggdrasil ‘Book of Fame’, where finishers can sign their name and mark the occasion.
