Did you know...

Wetlands are some of the most valuable ecosystems on our planet; they store carbon, reduce flooding, improve water quality and provide vital homes for wildlife.

We are incredibly lucky to have Rutland Water, one of Europe’s largest man-made wetlands, on our doorstep - a true conservation success story. From wintering wildfowl and breeding ospreys to rare plants and insects, Rutland Water shows how wetlands can thrive when protected and cared for.
