Description

Puddle Cottage is a traditional, character stone cottage built in the 1800’s in the heart of Edith Weston, a popular Rutland village and Conservation area on the south shore of Rutland Water. The cottage has one large bedroom which can offer a super king sized bed, or two full size single beds, the cottage can each sleep two comfortably. We are proud to hold a 4 star ratings and a prestigious ROSE Award (Recognition of Service Excellence) by Visit England for self-catering accommodation, along with the ‘Walkers Welcome’ & ‘Cyclists Welcome‘ awards.

The cottage is just a short walking distance to the South shore of Rutland Water, the sailing club and walking distance to Rutland Water Fishing Lodge. The village has a lovely village shop and pub both within walking distance.

Within 8 miles of Puddle Cottage also lie the market towns of Oakham, Stamford and Uppingham, making the cottages the ideal place to explore all that Rutland has to offer.

Puddle Cottage offers the traditional charm of a cottage, maintaining the original stone walls, exposed timberwork and open fire. Yet they offer all the modern facilities you would expect such as a recently renovated bathroom, gas central heating, and a refurbished breakfast kitchen along with large flat screen Smart TV’s. WIFI is also available to our guests free of charge. Off road parking is available on a large gravel area at the back of the cottages.

We provide kitchen essentials to get you started, towels and linen, as well as a large pile of logs, coal and kindling for the open fire.

We happily accommodate well behaved dogs at Puddle Cottage (which has an enclosed garden) and there are many fantastic walks locally. We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible, so we have filled the cottages with books and games which you can enjoy in front of the log fire in the winter or the cottage garden in the summer.

Whether you are looking for an action packed break sailing, windsurfing, fishing, walking, cycling, or bird watching, a laid back retreat to enjoy the market towns and fantastic local produce, are visiting for a wedding, or are looking for a cosy, romantic weekend away, then Puddle is for you.
