Welcome to No.23, a bistro-style restaurant in the heart of Uppingham offering stunning food.

We offer a varied menu, alongside refined cocktails and an extensive wine list in a 300-year-old, beautifully restored Grade II listed building.

Most of our beef, lamb and pork comes from our own farm, less than 10 miles away, but there are dishes to suit all tastes, whether you’re nipping in for a quick bite or celebrating a special occasion with family or friends.

We regular change the menu to reflect what’s in season and available locally, but the types of dish you might see are:

· Tempura monkfish cheeks, with mint pea velouté, hasselback potatoes and whipped tartare;

· Lamb rack with baba ganoush tenderstem, feta and chimichurri

· Miso-glazed aubergine with whipped tofu, broccoli and spiced hazelnuts

We also have a wide range of lighter dishes, with lunch options including smashed avocado with poached eggs, chilli and mixed seeds, and a fish finger bun with picked fennel, rocket and tartare sauce.

Our popular £5 pasta dish is available on Thursday lunchtimes, with the £10 market special available on Fridays.

We also hold special events, such as wine pairing evenings allowing guests to explore food and wine from around the world.

We are also available for private-hire events including weddings, christenings and corporate occasions. Diners are able to create bespoke food and drinks menus to suit their tastes and budgets.

Meanwhile, our terrace garden is a secluded and tranquil spot, with plenty of open and covered seating so the perfect place for alfresco eating (or simply to relax with a cocktail).

The garden also has its own private dining room seating up to 10. Cloaked in oak, it offers a cosy, intimate space, kept warm by underfloor heating in the cooler months.
