Whatever your age or ability, we’ve got just the bike for you from hybrid and mountain bikes, to the latest electric bikes, tandems, gel saddle covers, helmets and kids’ bikes, tag-a-longs, child seats and buggies – all current season models from Specialized, replaced every year.

Located on Rutland’s beautiful North shore, families will love the gentle ride to Normanton, romantics the bluebells of Barnsdale and the adventurers the full lap of Rutland Water.  The Specialized bike shop offers bike hire, sales, servicing, repairs and bike fit. Stocking top bike brands, including over 100 electric bikes now in store.

Start your Rutland adventure at Normanton on the South shore and explore beautiful Rutland Water by bike, enjoying peaceful waterside trails, pretty picnic spots, children’s play areas and plenty of pub stops en route. Spot a rare osprey, visit the sandy beach and enjoy a well-earned ice cream!

First hire 10am – last hire 1pm – bike return time 3.30pm

Please check their website for current pricing details. Daily hire ranges from: £40 for a mountain bike, £50 for an e-bike, £20 for a children’s bike.

Cycle Hire checklist

When hiring a bike, you will need…

  • To pay with a credit or debit card (this is for security purposes)
  • An adult to book, if you are under 16
  • To be responsible for the bike and hire equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing: we recommend breathable, loose fit clothing, a couple of layers and a light showerproof jacket. We don’t recommend cycling in sandals or flip flops
  • Booked online? You’ll need to bring your confirmation email and a proof of ID
  • Show photo ID (driving licence or passport) if you are hiring an electric bike – this is required for security purposes
