Nestled just next to the picturesque village of Egleton, the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre provides the ideal start point for your visit to Rutland Water Nature Reserve. Here you will find a well stocked gift shop, light refreshments, and friendly staff and volunteers on hand should you need assistance.
Rutland’s most famous landmark was saved from flooding when Rutland Water was created in the 1970s. Now with the floor raised almost half way up the church, it is a fascinating building with a unique history.
The kitchen specialises in taste-packed classics, using ingredients from their own paddock as well as the surrounding countryside and local producers and supplies. They skilfully work with flavours that were made to go together as well a few unusual combinations.
Rocks by Rail is an outdoor living museum covering 19 acres of reclaimed quarry and railway tracks to offer a journey back in time. Situated 4 miles from Oakham, explore fascinating nature trails, take a train trip, drive a classic loco and tour the workshop.
This holiday retreat is ideally located to explore one of the finest examples of creative conservation in Great Britain – Rutland Water.  Stroll down the bridle path next to Pibbles Nook, climb the stile, make your way across the meadow and  pass through the spinney that leads to the edge of the water where you can enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits including water sports, trout fishing, bird watching, cycling and walking.
Clematis Cottages offer a collection of 4 individual cottages which together can sleep up to 20 guests, situated in the grounds of Lodge Farm which is a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Georgian town of Stamford. We now welcome well behaved dogs with their owners.
The Barnsdale experience is all about enjoying exceptional food and drink. Our homely 1760 Brasserie and breath-taking Orangery, are accompanied by a number of fabulous private spaces.
Canoes, kayaks, SUP’s, katakanus and row boats are all hired on a first come first served basis from our Watersports Centre at Whitwell, we do not take prior bookings. You can also bring your own equipment to use with a launch permit.
