Rutland Water Fly Fishing Open Day 2026

On Sunday 2nd August, it will be the RWFF Open Day. We will be based at the Normanton Fishing Lodge from 10am to 4pm and have an open house for club members and the public.

The Open Day to both introduce the public to fly fishing, and engage with club members who want to come along and say hi, ask questions and generally catch up with each other.

The following will be ongoing during the day:

Free casting tuition and demonstrations

Fly tying demonstration and beginners clinic

Tackle demonstrations, on request in the lodge

Boat handling & safety coaching

Fly fishing clinic - answering questions from beginners and improvers

For refreshments, there will be hot and cold drinks. The cafe will be open as usual.

The RWFF Committee look forward to meeting members of the public who are interested in finding out more about fly fishing and would encourage everyone to come along. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get some advice on aspects of fly fishing which you need some help on. If not, catch up with other keen anglers and find out how their season is going.
