Mary Queen of Scots: The Exhibition

We are proud to host this remarkable new exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral, the original burial site of Mary, Queen of Scots, offering a unique and evocative setting in which to encounter her story.

Mary Queen of Scots: The Exhibition presents the extraordinary life of one of Britain’s most compelling historical figures, tracing a story shaped by power, faith, ambition, and resilience amid the turbulence of 16th-century Europe.

Through a rich collection of original artefacts and reproductions, enhanced by striking visuals and immersive scenes, the exhibition follows Mary’s journey from crowned infant to a life marked by political upheaval, personal loss, and enduring legacy. Intimate personal narratives intertwine with high-stakes political intrigue, revealing the depth and complexity of a woman whose story continues to fascinate more than four centuries later.

Carefully crafted to both engage and enlighten, this exhibition offers a moving and memorable experience, whether you are a lifelong history enthusiast or discovering Mary’s story for the very first time.
