Rockingham Castle’s Victorian Christmas
Candle lit trees, roaring fires and magnificent period costume – enjoy festive magic with a Victorian twist at Rockingham Castle. You will be transported back to Christmas Eve in 1849, to the reign of Queen Victoria, as the Watson family gather for their traditional Christmas celebrations. Delicious homemade, locally sourced, Christmas dishes for lunch and dinner will also be available in the Walker’s House Restaurant, ranging from full festive meals to warming bowls of soup, mulled wine and mince pies. The Castle Gift Shop will also be filled with a selection of Christmas gifts for friends and family, as well as rare and limited-edition decorations for you to recreate the feel of a Victorian Christmas in your own home.

The Burghley Christmas Fair returns – and it’s bigger and better than ever! Wander amongst the decorative chalets, marquees and stalls from a selection of fantastic exhibitors offering everything from luxury gifts, artisan foods, festive treats, winter clothing and much more.

- Enlightened Belvoir Light Trail: Brand new for 2021, Belvoir Castle are partnering with Enlightened to bring a 1.3km light trail which will be illuminating the beauty of Belvoir Castle this winter. It’s a breathtaking experience which will include talking trees, interactive stepping stones, a wishing tree area and much more.

Festive Afternoon Tea with Santa
Head down to Rutland Hall Hotel and Spa for a truly magical Christmas themed afternoon tea for adults and children with homemade taste bud teasers including sandwiches, cakes and scones. Arrive from 3pm to play crazy gold with Santa but remember to wrap up warm as Golf is outside! There will also be a photo opportunity with Santa! Afternoon tea will then be served in the restaurant from 4pm with the cheeky Elves with Christmas colouring activities being supplied for each table.

Late night shopping in Uppingham
Visit Uppingham on Thursday 2nd December 5.30-9pm and enjoy this late night shopping event in our picturesque market town at Christmas time. As well as the fabulous shops being open til 9, there will be live music, market stalls, Santa and lots more!
The first Thursday of each December is the local celebration of Christmas. It’s a family event with lots of food and wine, festive spirit and late night shopping, in the beautiful market town of Uppingham, in Rutland.
