As we wave goodbye to 2021, many of you will be planning your 2022 New Year’s resolutions… The most popular resolutions for 2021 were exercising more and improving fitness (according to a Discover Happy Habits survey), and 2022 is expected to mirror these. So take a moment to read our top tips for staying ‘fit for life’ during your Winter visit to Rutland.

Rutland is one of the best destinations in Great Britain if you love to walk, run, cycle or sail. Just turn up – there are bikes to hire (including tandems and bikes with buggies that toddlers will love), sailing and watersports courses with wetsuit hire available and miles and miles of stunning scenery to walk, run or amble in.

Whether you’re a newbie or an experienced runner, join our weekly ‘Park Run’ every Saturday morning from 9:00am. The event is part of the hugely popular national ‘Park Run’ scheme and takes places at Rutland Water, Normanton Road, Edith Weston LE15 8HD. It costs nothing to take part, all you need to do is register your details. This is a fabulous opportunity to run in a very friendly, inclusive atmosphere arranged free of charge every week by enthusiastic volunteers in spectacular countryside.
