Description
Join Inky Storytellers at The Loft this Easter for a hands-on creative workshop where children will explore poetry and clay sculpture inspired by the wonders of sea life.
Through engaging poetry activities, children will use language to capture the movement, textures, and patterns of marine creatures—from the shimmer of fish scales to the curl of a seahorse’s tail. Their words will bring the underwater world to life as they experiment with rhythm, description, and storytelling.
Following a demonstration of coloured air-dry clay techniques, they’ll sketch their own sea-inspired designs before sculpting vibrant marine creatures. Using a variety of tools, they’ll explore shape, texture, and colour to create a unique underwater scene to take home.
This workshop is led by Liz Edmonds, a writer, educator, and literary specialist, and Nic Read, an arts and textiles teacher with expertise in arts and crafts. Both are DBS-checked and first aid trained, ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for all participants.
Ages 6-8: 10:00am-12:00pm / Ages 9-11: 1:00pm-3:00pm
£30 per session and includes all materials needed for the workshop.
