Description
Ride & Stride Rutland has 64 churches, much loved by the many thousands of people who worship in them, celebrate major life events or just gaze at them in admiration as they pass by.
The Rutland Historic Churches Preservation Trust (RHCPT) was set up to provide a financial helping hand to churches in Rutland, to preserve and maintain these precious places of worship.
Held once every two years, the Trust’s main source of income is the Rutland Ride & Stride, a fun and family-friendly sponsored event, which raises vital funds towards the preservation of the county’s beautiful and ancient church buildings. Participants visit as many churches as they can in one day by their chosen mode of transport – most walk or cycle, but horse riders are welcome and there’s even a prize for the most original mode of transport.
If you’d like to take part in this year’s Ride & Stride event on Saturday 13 September, you can apply via the website, where you’ll also find a handy ‘Route Planner’ and some pre-prepared sample routes, including the Stretton Loop, complete with Map and Directions. www.rhcpt.co.uk
