5-Week Course | Fridays 7th March – 4th April
Session Times: 10:30am – 12:30pm or 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Discover the joy of working with clay in this hands-on pottery course led by ceramic artist Katherine Staples. Over five weeks, you’ll explore a range of techniques including hand-building, slab-building, decorating and glazing.
Each session is designed to help you create beautiful, functional, and decorative ceramics, from mugs and bowls to platters and cheeseboards. The final week focuses on glazing, allowing you to add colour and personality to your creations.
Course Schedule:
Week 1: Slab-built mug
Weeks 2 & 3: Hand-built bowl or vase
Week 4: Platter or cheeseboard
Week 5: Glazing & decoration
This course is perfect for all levels, offering a relaxed and creative environment.
Katherine Staples, a DeMontfort University BA Design Crafts graduate and Loughborough University MA Studio Ceramics graduate, draws inspiration from the movement of water in her own stunning ceramic sculptures.
