SUMMARY:Vineyard Tours & Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Discover the Belvoir Castle Vineyard Experience \nWhere Heritage Meets the Vine \nNestled within the rolling estate of Belvoir Castle lies a vineyard whose story is woven into the very fabric of the land. These slopes have cradled vines since Roman times\, and the vines were replanted in 2019 completing a circle of English wine-making history at Belvoir. Now\, we invite you to step into that story—to walk the rows\, taste the wines\, and discover the craft that turns our estate-grown grapes into bottles worthy of the Belvoir name. \nThis is more than a tour. It’s an immersion into a living tradition\, set against one of the most breathtaking backdrops in the East Midlands. \nYour Journey Through the Vineyard \nBegin at the Farm Shop \nOur English wine-making tour begins at the Belvoir Castle Retail Village Farm Shop—a celebration of local produce\, artisan craft\, and estate-grown goodness. Here you’ll meet your fellow travellers\, receive your first taste of the estate\, and prepare for an adventure that takes you from castle grounds to working vineyard. \nStep Aboard the Gun Bus \nLeave the ordinary behind. You’ll travel to the vineyard aboard our iconic Gun Bus—a vehicle with character as distinctive as the wines themselves. The journey through the estate sets the scene: ancient parkland\, sweeping views\, and the anticipation of vines waiting to be discovered. \nWalk the Vines with Alasdair Lawson-Dick \nYour guide through this productive landscape is Alasdair Lawson-Dick\, an expert whose knowledge of wine is matched by his passion for it. Alasdair will reveal the story of the vineyard and the grape varieties chosen as well as the character and the centuries of heritage that shape every bottle. \nYou’ll learn how the unique microclimate and soils of the Belvoir estate influence the wines in your glass\, why certain varieties thrive here\, and how our winemaking philosophy honours both tradition and innovation. This is not a scripted walk; it’s a conversation\, shaped by your curiosity so feel free to ask your questions as you chat. \nA Tasting Like No Other \nThe journey culminates in a guided tasting of four estate wines —a beautifully presented flight that allows you to explore the full character of our range at your own pace. \nFrom crisp\, expressive whites to elegant sparkling wines that capture the sparkle of an English summer\, you’ll discover the signature styles that define Belvoir. Alasdair will guide you through each wine — with information about how they were made\, what to look for\, and how to enjoy them at their best. \nTake in the panoramic views across the estate. Capture the moment—the vines\, the castle rising in the distance\, the light across the valley. \nThe Return \nWhen you’re ready\, the Gun Bus will carry you back to the Farm Shop\, where the experience continues. Browse our estate wines\, take advantage of your exclusive 20% discount on all Belvoir wines and take home a bottle (or three)\, and explore the artisan producers and local makers who share the Belvoir commitment to quality and craft. \nWhat’s Included \n· A welcome taste at the Belvoir Castle Retail Village Farm Shop \n· Gun Bus transport to and from the vineyard \n· Guided vineyard walk with expert Alasdair Lawson-Dick \n· Guided tasting of four estate wines \n· Time at leisure to enjoy the views and capture photographs \n· Approximate duration: 3 hours. \nPractical Information \nDeparture point: Belvoir Castle Retail Village Farm Shop\nDuration: Approximately 3 hours.\nGroup size: Limited to ensure an intimate experience\, early booking recommended\nWhat to wear: Comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for walking on uneven ground and vineyard rows; layers recommended for changeable English weather \nPlan Your Visit \nThe vineyard is a living\, working estate\, and every season brings its own character—from the first green shoots of spring to the golden hues of harvest. Whenever you visit\, you’ll find the vines telling their own chapter of the Belvoir story.
