SUMMARY:Murder on the Railway- Halloween: House of Murder
DESCRIPTION:Have you got the super-sleuth skills to find and solve the clues? \nThe detective persona to interrogate the suspects? \nThe judge and jury deliberation to identify the killer? \nThen our Murder Mystery evenings are the perfect way to enjoy an evening with friends\, a ride on the train\, a delightful bottle of wine and a savoury snack basket (snack basket and bottle of wine served per table of 2). The snack baskets are suitable for both gluten-free and vegan diets. \n£120 per table of two \nWhat can you expect from all our Murder Mysteries?\nA fully interactive and immersive evening where you will: \n• Have an opportunity to investigate the murder scene\n• Be given evidence to review and decipher\n• Have the opportunity to interrogate each suspect at your table\n• Enjoy a snack box and bottle of wine (between 2 people)\n• Have a ride behind one of our heritage trains (usually steam\, but not guaranteed)\n• Our on-train bar will be open from 18:00 (located in our Buffet Car) serving a variety of drinks for you to purchase \nThe evening is fully scripted (apart from the improvisation element depending on what questions are asked): nothing is left to chance. Every look\, line\, movement and positioning is precise\, to give the outcome we desire. Our team of writers and actors work tirelessly on their characters\, back story and preparation for questions. In fact\, it takes more time to prepare for that than it does for these fabulous actors to be script down! \nThere can be only one winning team. So it is important to write down as many clues about each suspect and in general that you uncover. The team with the most clues will be victorious. \nItinerary\nCheck in at 5:30pm\nCurtain up at 6:00pm\nTake your seats on the train at 6:45pm\nTrain departure at 7:00pm\nArrive back at Wansford at 8:10pm\nConclusion and evening ends at 8:45pm \nA self-support group of social outcasts meet regularly to try to cope with their Halloween-rooted anxieties. This month’s unconditional positive regard goes right out the window when one of the members gets murdered. The remaining suspects need to prove their innocence to weed out the guilty party. \nOver 18’s only

SUMMARY:Sarah Gerrard-Jones: Love Your Orchid- 14th November- 10:30-12:00
DESCRIPTION:This November\, the Glasshouse at Rutland Nursery\, our dedicated indoor space for houseplants\, provides the setting for a special morning with Sarah Gerrard-Jones\, aka The Plant Rescuer\, celebrating the launch of her new book\, Love Your Orchid. \nOrchids are among the world’s most popular houseplants\, yet they are often misunderstood. With the right knowledge\, however\, they are surprisingly easy to care for and encourage to flower again. \nSarah will take the mystery out of orchid care\, sharing practical advice on choosing the right orchid\, positioning\, watering and feeding\, keeping it healthy and encouraging it to flower again. She’ll also cover what to do when flowering finishes\, how to care for an orchid during its dormant period and how to recognise when it needs attention. \nWith more than 28\,000 species\, orchids are a fascinating and diverse plant family. Sarah will share her tips for recognising when an orchid is struggling and how to help it thrive. Whether you’re an experienced grower\, have a struggling plant at home or are new to orchids\, you’ll leave with useful knowledge and greater confidence in your care. \nSarah Gerrard-Jones is a houseplant expert\, writer and award-winning designer\, best known as The Plant Rescuer. She won Gold at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2022 for The Plant Clinic and has appeared on ITV’s Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club and BBC Gardeners’ World. She is also a founder of the Plant Rescue Box\, an RHS-backed initiative helping to reduce plant waste. \nA practical and inspiring morning for anyone who wants to understand their orchids better and help them thrive. \nPhotography credit Dorling Kindersley- Jason Ingram
