DESCRIPTION:The popular festival will be returning from 16-29 May 2026\, celebrating movement\, wellbeing and community across Rutland. \nWhat’s happening during Rutland Walking & Cycling Festival:\nWell\, the Rutland Round is back! with guided walks through beautiful local routes. Plus there will be a celebration of the Viking Way’s 50th Anniversary. \nMyBike collaboration event is set to giveaway free refurbished bikes and also to take away any unused or broken bikes to repair for the community. \nThere will be family-friendly activities\, opportunities to meet like-minded people and we will be spotlighting local services\, clubs and organisations around Rutland on our social media \nWhat’s on during the first week of Rutland Walking & Cycling Festival?\nThe first week features the much loved Rutland Round – a 65-mile circular route around the perimeter of the county\, with its start and finish in Oakham and a couple of detours to visit Rutland Water. The 65-mile walk will be split into six days and led by fantastic volunteer leaders who bring local knowledge\, encouragement and inspiration along the way. Limited transport will be available to return participants to start points (subject to availability). You can book to walk as many sections as you like or why not take on the challenge of the full Rutland Round. \nWhat’s on during the second week of Rutland Walking & Cycling Festival?\nThe second week shines a spotlight on the amazing local services\, clubs\, programmes\, and community groups that make Rutland thrive. Offering a range of guided walks\, bike trade in event and inclusive events for all ages and abilities\, from gentle family sessions to more challenging experiences. \nDownload the programme here\nThere’s still time to sign up for events\, so be sure to check out the full programme and secure your spot. Relive the complex trials and tribulations of this remarkable band as Fleetwood Mac by Moonlight lead you through decades of nostalgia\, under a starry Rockingham Castle sky. \nDance\, laugh\, reminisce\, and Go Your Own Way down memory lane with your nearest and dearest\, on what promises to be an evening of fun at one of the most stunning live music locations in the Midlands. \nGates open at 5.30pm and the show starts at 7.00pm. \nPlease bring your own blankets or low-backed seating. Picnics are welcome. Please just tidy up after yourself\, either taking rubbish with you\, or using the bins provided. \nOutdoor performances will continue in all but the worst weather. Check the forecast and dress accordingly. \nAll tickets are non-refundable. \nIn the event of cancellation due to exceptionally bad weather\, or other extenuating circumstances\, Rockingham Castle will contact ticket holders regarding alternative arrangements. \nRegistered carers can accompany a visitor on a carers ticket.
