SUMMARY:After Hours Architecture & Landscape Tour
DESCRIPTION:After Hours Architecture & Landscape Tour\n\n\n\nAn expert-led tour exploring the vision\, design and ambition behind Burghley\n\n\n\n\n\nEnjoy an exclusive after hours experience at Burghley on this carefully curated guided tour\, offering a rare opportunity for close-up views of key features and insight into the people ideas and landscapes that have shaped the House and grounds over five centuries. \nWilliam Cecil’s Creation and the 5th Earl’s Golden Gates \nThe evening begins with an architectural tour led by Curator\, Jon Culverhouse\, whose deep knowledge of the House and its history brings William Cecil’s design to life. Entering through the North Court\, take in the grand entrance\, before moving on to the West Front of the House to view the celebrated Golden Gates. Along the way\, uncover intriguing details\, fascinating stories and learn about lesser-known changes made to the House over time. \nCapability’s Alteration \nThe focus then shifts to the landscape as the tour continues into the South Gardens guided by Head Gardener\, Joe Whitehead. Here\, explore Capability Brown’s transformative influence on the grounds\, taking in views of the Lion Bridge\, the lake and the carefully composed vistas created by his vision. Pause near Brown’s Summer House to enjoy refreshments beneath the sweeping canopy of a majestic Cedar of Lebanon\, one of his signature statement trees\, with serene views across the water. \nGlorious Gardens \nThe guided walk continues through the gardens\, highlighting seasonal interest\, planting schemes and the care required to maintain Burghley’s historic landscape today. This is an opportunity to see the gardens through expert eyes and explore areas not normally open to visitors. \nCocktails and Canapés \nThe evening concludes with cocktails and canapés served in the Orangery Rose Garden\, an elegant setting in which to reflect on a rich and immersive journey through Burghley’s past and present. \n\nGuided architectural tour with Curator\, Jon Culverhouse\nSouth Gardens tour with Head Gardener\, Joe Whitehead\nCocktails and canapés in the Orangery Rose Garden\nSmall group experience – limited places available

SUMMARY:Murder on the Railway- Murder at the Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Have you got the super-sleuth skills to find and solve the clues? \nThe detective persona to interrogate the suspects? \nThe judge and jury deliberation to identify the killer? \nThen our Murder Mystery evenings are the perfect way to enjoy an evening with friends\, a ride on the train\, a delightful bottle of wine and a savoury snack basket (snack basket and bottle of wine served per table of 2). The snack baskets are suitable for both gluten-free and vegan diets. \n£120 per table of two \nWhat can you expect from all our Murder Mysteries?\nA fully interactive and immersive evening where you will: \n• Have an opportunity to investigate the murder scene\n• Be given evidence to review and decipher\n• Have the opportunity to interrogate each suspect at your table\n• Enjoy a snack box and bottle of wine (between 2 people)\n• Have a ride behind one of our heritage trains (usually steam\, but not guaranteed)\n• Our on-train bar will be open from 18:00 (located in our Buffet Car) serving a variety of drinks for you to purchase \nThe evening is fully scripted (apart from the improvisation element depending on what questions are asked): nothing is left to chance. Every look\, line\, movement and positioning is precise\, to give the outcome we desire. Our team of writers and actors work tirelessly on their characters\, back story and preparation for questions. In fact\, it takes more time to prepare for that than it does for these fabulous actors to be script down! \nThere can be only one winning team. So it is important to write down as many clues about each suspect and in general that you uncover. The team with the most clues will be victorious. \nItinerary\nCheck in at 5:30pm\nCurtain up at 6:00pm\nTake your seats on the train at 6:45pm\nTrain departure at 7:00pm\nArrive back at Wansford at 8:10pm\nConclusion and evening ends at 8:45pm \nA self-support group of social outcasts meet regularly to try to cope with their Halloween-rooted anxieties. This month’s unconditional positive regard goes right out the window when one of the members gets murdered. The remaining suspects need to prove their innocence to weed out the guilty party. \nOver 18’s only
