Sam Llewellyn\, acclaimed thriller writer and children’s author \nThere is something irresistible in the way Sid turns random detritus into objects of movement\, elegance and wit. Simon Beaufoy\, screenwriter\, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ \nThis will be 78 year old Sid Burnard’s 4th Goldmark show. His work is made from the jetsam he finds lying about on beaches\, riverbanks and hedges. What others may think of as junk Sid treats as precious cargo to fetch back to his studio\, study and play with\, until he finally and magically transforms them into a bird\, a beast\, an insect or a boat.

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 13th May 2026\, 5am – 9am \nExplore the dawn chorus of Burley Wood\, the largest Ancient woodland in Leicestershire and Rutland. \nJoin Tim Appleton and the Wild Rutland team for a guided walk in Burley Woods\, our safaris are a semi strenous walk with regular pauses including a light breakfast stop. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness and be able to cope with uneven\, wet and often slippy ground. On wet days\, wellies are a necessity.
